Polygon (Matic) - YappaFi’s Blockchain Of Choice & Why

• ETH LAYER

  • Polygon can take advantage of Ethereum base layer for: security, finality, staking, dispute resolution, checkpointing and messaging from Polygon to Ethereum (Non Obligatory).

• SECURITY LAYER (Non Mandatory)

  • Validator as a service - can use any Polygon validator to check validity in exchange for a fee (runs in parallel to Ethereum), validator management, rewards, shuffling, registering, de-registering can have multiple implementations with different characteristics and can leverage Ethereum miners as validators.

• Polygon LAYER (Mandatory)

  • Each network has local consensus, block production and transaction collation.

• EXECUTION LAYER (Mandatory)

  • Interpreting and executing transactions.

• Execution environment & Execution logic

  • Generic and Abstract on purpose to allow for scaling & optimisation.

  • Security, transaction speed , transaction cost , sovereignty with no sacrifice.

See below for examples of how different projects would use the different layers of Polygon.

Example 1

A billion dollar defi project with billions in smart contracts would want to have Security and would sacrifice Sovereignty thus building on Polygon could still use Ethereum layer.

Example 2

An NFT Marketplace would want to ensure low transaction costs for users and thus would need lower security. Thus it would skip the Ethereum layer and use the Polygon security layer using shared validators.

Example 3

A Play to earn game would skip all layers and use only the top Polygon layer for fast block time allowing for quicker in-game transactions and actions.

SCALING ON POLYGON

Polygon is designed for scale, and so is YappaFi with key marketing plans lined up for both Africa & Asia.

Optimistic rollups are a layer 2 construction that improves throughput and latency on Ethereum's base layer by moving computation and data storage off-chain. Optimistic rollups process transactions outside of Ethereum Mainnet, therefore improving scalability & reducing congestion on the base layer.

ZK-Rollups (Zero-knowledge rollups): is a layer 2 scalability solution that enables blockchains to validate transactions faster and at a cheaper rate.

Additionally, different scaling solutions on Polygon can communicate. For example an optimistic roll up can bridge with an alternate ZK- Rollup.

YappaFi will eventually own validator nodes within both ETH and POLYGON main net. We will also allow partners to become validators in our network.
